At the end of September, Sportico, a site dedicated to the business of sports in the US, published their annual list of the MLS franchise’s valuations. It came as a surprise to no one that Inter Miami is in the top half of this year’s ranking. In fact, the Herons jumped 4 places from their 14th place in 2021’s ranking. A 10th-place position is nothing to scoff at. For such a young sports team to be already valued at $585 million is a great testament to the work being done by David Beckham’s team
Inter Miami is 15 places above their local rivals Orlando City who went down one place from 2021’s ranking
The Herons are also firmly above outfits that have been in the league for decades likes of NY Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, and New England Revolution
Inter Miami will have their sight set on the two Los Angeles clubs who have been dominating this list for a long time. This year Gareth Bale’s team, LAFC tops the ranking with a valuation of $900 million, followed by LA Galaxy at $865 million. The race to become the first billion-dollar franchise is well underway in the city of Angels
It remains to be seen if Beckham and his management team can continue to grow this team appeal after the departure of their Star Player, Gonzalo Higuain. There is a certain Portuguese star who is currently not too happy with his game time in Manchester who would be perfect to take this team to the next level. Ronaldo and Miami are made for each other.
